Recently I have been shopping at a lot of different antique shops, and I have been finding the most wonderful things.
One of them happens to be my vanity table. I love stumbling upon little treasures, and this one was quite a big treasure. I have no idea what kind of vanity this is, or how old it is. All I know is that it is totally unique.
I had been wanting a vanity table, and I really wanted to go vintage after reading a blog post by Niomi Smart. She showed a picture of her vanity and said it was vintage and I absolutely loved it, and then I became obsessed with the idea of going vintage.
I am soooo glad I found this beauty! And not only that, but the mirror is an antique as well.
The flowers are what caught my attention. I've never seen a more perfect mirror.
I'm addicted to antique shopping now! How about you? Do you stop in at antique shops hoping to find a treasure of your own?
I love vintage furniture because it's so unique and really feels like no one else has it :)

ReplyDeleteI have never actually been sntique shopping before - I don't know where to start, plus my grump (I love him really) of a boyfriend hates nic nacs and clutter. He would have us living in a total sterile space if her could. But he puts up with my little quirks so I might add antique shopping to the long list :)
ReplyDeleteI love the table it is so adorable and so is that mirror - I bet you feel like a proper lady putting your make up on at it!

DeleteWhat a gorgeous find Christina. love that table and the mirror is absolutely stunning, it's so unique and so incredibly beautiful! I love the idea of antique shopping, browsing through things with so much history in them. I don't have any antique shops in my area so I never went antique-shopping, but I'd love to do it one day. Just love the idea :) .

DeleteI just wrote the longest comment ever and Blogger swallowed it whole and didn't publish! I'm so mad at Blogger because I don't know if I can remember all I said.... :/ But will try! ;) Here goes:
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post Christina! Your photos are so striking, I love how you've got some black and white shots, so classy! The lights, mirror and lipsticks are just the prettiest touches! Love! Your video was just amazing; everything about it was perfect from start to finish! I love how you talked with such passion and gusto about antique shopping, it really made me smile :) Such positive, radiant vibes always bounce off you and I was reminded of a celebrity talking on a documentary a few times... that's how natural and effervescent you are on camera! A natural, through and through! The vanity is such a beauty, I love the intricate gold detailing... just gorgeous and so unique. I can't believe someone gave it away either, but I'm so glad they did, it belongs to you now and it was just made for you! I love the mirror, the flower detailing is oh so cute and really makes it stand-out! The shots of your vanity are so stylishly slick, you are so professional with filming, I always love your vlogs :) Your make-up is flawless in this video also, and I love the hat you're wearing, it suits you so, SO well! <3
I don't go antique shopping myself, but that's mostly due to not having my own place... maybe one day ;) I did however, go to buy an old VHS recorder from a second hand furniture shop the other day... I won't babble on about why now, will be revealing why in a future post so will bore everyone with the details then! ;) :)

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry Sophie! Blogger can be so dumb sometimes!!
DeleteThank you sooo much! I'm so glad you liked the vlog! I was a bit nervous about it because it's different than my others, but I like the style a lot better. I thought I might be talking a little slow haha. I don't know! I always pick apart the things I make and all I could think was that I was talking soooo slow! But this makes me feel better about it! Thank you thank you!!! <3
Ooooh that's sooo cool! Can't remember the last time I saw a VHS player!! I'm so curious now!
